What is HEIC format?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It uses HEIF compression to produce smaller files with the same quality as JPG, but has limited compatibility outside the Apple ecosystem.
Why can't I open HEIC files on Windows?
Windows doesn't include HEIC support by default. You'd need to install Microsoft's HEIF Image Extensions from the Store. Our converter is a faster alternative — just drag, convert, and download as JPG.
Does converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?
